Individual psychotherapy

Individual Psychotherapy

People enter therapy for a million different reasons.  Makes sense, as people are all different!  Whether there is an immediate crisis, or a historical underlying issue, or something in between... therapy can help.

There are a lot of negative stereotypes around "therapy."  But it's my firm belief that everyone should have a therapist.  Having a dedicated time to explore stressors, issues, and successes in your life on a regular basis is nothing but helpful to your overall psyche.

Whether you're struggling with relationship issues, life transitions, mood difficulties, self-esteem, self-worth, addiction, health issues, or anything else that is interfering with you living your best life... therapy can help.

What is the goal of therapy?  Anything you want it to be.  We will work together to identify what you need in your life in order to feel fulfilled and happy, and together we will work towards those things!

10 Reasons to Consider Meeting With a Therapist

(Adapted from www.dbhutah.org)

  1. You're feeling overwhelmingly sad, helpless, or hopeless (who wants to feel this way?)
  2. Your current supports aren't enough (despite their best efforts, family and friends advice doesn't cut it)
  3. You're using alcohol, drugs, or other unhealthy coping mechanisms (be honest with yourself)
  4. You're struggling with a chronic health condition (either your own, or a loved one)
  5. You're undergoing a big change (transitions are HARD)
  6. You're grieving a loss (a family member, friend, pet, role, job, relationship.... losses that are not due to death are still losses)
  7. You suspect that you may have a serious mental health condition (let me help)
  8. You feel like you've lost control (of your emotions, your self, your anger... therapy can help you regain control)
  9. You're having family issues (improve communication/resolve conflicts with people you live with)
  10. You just feel like you'd like someone to talk to (it's okay!  It's healthy!)
